The Starratt Team is proud to have an association with the Banff community and we are pleased to promote and celebrate Banff through honoring the best in sport and mountain leisure from both Banff and Lake Louise. The Banff Sports Hall of Fame is an opportunity to honour individuals from Banff National Park who have distinguished themselves in sport and mountain leisure, to assist in the development of future contribution to athletic pursuits, and to promote our inductees to both residents and visitors of Banff National Park. Mark Starratt is the founder and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.
Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 Rotary clubs located in 200 countries and geographical areas. Members of The Starratt Team belong to both the Canmore Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Calgary Crowchild. In addition, Mark was honored to be District Governor – Southern Alberta for the 2008/09 year.
For millions of children living in some of the worst conditions in the world, sport and play can help them to develop self-esteem, build confidence, learn tolerance, and give them hope for a better future.
In a 2009 evaluation in Benin, Ghana and Mali, we learned that children participating in regular sport and play programs are 62 per cent more likely to report feeling good about themselves versus 49 per cent of children that do not participate in regular activity.
